Friday Quotes No. 2

The great blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. But, we shut our eyes. And, like people in the dark, we fall foul upon the very thing we search for without finding it.
- Seneca

Sometimes when we were able to get what we asked for, we tend to ask for more and we call these as blessings-the great big things to have. When we had a lot of them we’re afraid to lose them, scared that they would be taken away, then we do things so we can never lose our grasp of these material things. We spend so much time trying to get more, more, and more and more. Then we became evil. We forgot about all the real blessings that were given to us, like the laughter of our kids, our friends, our strengths, our house, our job, our blog. We just need to pause for a moment, enjoy these little blessings, and when we start counting them one by one, we will be surprised to know that it is easier to count a handful of sand than count all the blessings that we have. Let’s be thankful.

You are so right. The real blessings are the things that no amount of money could ever buy.

Yes, we should all be thankful for our blessings. We tend to think more about our "wants" and not our "needs."
