It was declared a national holiday that fall every last Sunday of August by virtue of Act No. 3827 of 1931. Help! I lost my Page Rank! :'(

I've been blogging for a year and been so proud of myself because I had PR2 but then something happened that I need to stop for just a while. And now that I'm back, I found out that my PR2 is now PR0 (sob). It just felt like a slap on my face :'(

Now that I'm back, finding out how did I lost my PR is my first task. I knew that this happened not just to me by to many bloggers out there. I knew that being away from my blog is the main culprit. Here are some of the few lessons I learned as to why I lost my PR2:

1. I wasn't able to make updates through writing posts. I didn't let Google know that I'm online daily and I wasn't able to write decent amount of posts that would qualify in Google Adsense. Not to mention that there are about a gazillion people using the internet and they are supposed to be our target readers.

2. I wasn't able to visit other blog sites and send out comments. With this, I wasn't able to get exchange links that will let other bloggers visit back my blog that would accumulate traffic.

3. I never tried submitting my blog to various search engines or blog communities.

I really need my PR back. Losing it also made me lose so many paid post opportunities too. Of course, one of the reasons why I created this blog is to earn money. While we also earn from Google ads, we all know that paid posts gives a more decent income. Not unless we're not out for the money.

I think I really need some professional help from blog gurus out there. So if there's anyone who's willing, I would be very very thankful :)

Jump For Pehpot

Again, here's my favorite subject for my blog, my best friend, Mylene whose heart is bigger than her size. She's always there for me whether during happy or during sad times. I remember when my mother passed away, she's so worried that she'd been calling me from time to time to check if my ok. She's so game that when we do jump shots she also jumps. She doesn't consider herself fat and she has lots of self confidence and she's happy for what she is. This picture was taken on an afternoon before we went home. She's not that heavy, do you think so?

So if Mylene can, why can't you?

Bloggers out there, WHY DON'T YOU JUMP FOR PEHPOT TOO?

I found a new Pay You To Blog company

LP 72: Hapunan

Our Best Jump Shot

We love to take jump shots as we love jumping. We knew it’s kinda baduy for us being professionals to take jump shots and its not cute anymore but who cares we’ve doing it for a long time now and it only shows that we are still physically fit to do it. This is our favorite shot taken somewhere in February after office hours. We would be taking pictures of the sunset but the sun is still up and we agreed that while we’re waiting, we’d take some jumping pictures of ourselves . Take note that the slippers gave an added effect. That's me third from the left :) Lots of practice really makes perfect. See how high we could jump!

Before we got the perfect shot, it took us around 30 jumps that left us all tired, tired from jumping and tired from laughing. This was a memorable shot for us because we really had a blast. Our Village Manager Engr. Mon and our driver Mike offered themselves to be the photographers. Here are some of the pictures taken:

giving our best pose hahaha

at the greens

Miss Elisa being attacked by big monster ants

we called them "dramatic shots" :P

and lastly, the sunset at Punta Fuego.

By the way, there's an ongoing contest held at Make or Break where you have to post an entry with the title Jump for Pehpot and you need to include a solo picture of a jump shot. I'll be joining too but I need to decide first which picture to include.

Pancit Bihon ala Stan

Pancit Bihon is a popular food among us Filipinos. Introduced by Chinese, it is usually served with calamansi and the basic ingredients are cabbage and some mixed vegetables, slices of chicken, soy sauce and patis and ground pepper for seasoning.

Last July 23 was my 36th birthday and Stanley generously offered to cook the Pancit Bihon himself. He knew how to cook and he cooks better than I do. Its just that during weekends, he's too tired to cook that all he wanted to do is sleep or watch his favorite tv shows. But because July 23 is my special day (ehem ehem), no matter how tired he was, he still insisted that he will cook my pancit. I'm elated and overwhelmed but I still managed to take pictures while he's cooking. He said "walang makikialam diskarte ko 'to". Here' how he did it.

In a large pan or wok, he sauted the crushed garlic and sliced onions

he added the cooked and shredded chicken breast

then the chicken broth and the mixed vegetables until cooked

soy sauce, patis and pepper to taste

then the pancit bihon, cooked for 5 minutes until the noodles are soft (take note to soak first the pancit bihon for 10 minutes prior to cooking to soften).

Tada! Pancit bihon ala Stan! It's super sarap that my officemates took some when they went home and they can't believe that it was Stan who cooked it. Another new-found talent for him. At least he still has an option aside from being "tindero ng sabon". Am I being so lucky?

How Old Is Old?

Chronological age is not that important as there are other things that matter more. I'm 36 years old and I don't think I'm old. As a matter of fact, I don't look old (he he). I've been there, done that, yet there are so many things I still want to do and accomplish. I want to go back to school. I want to travel and meet other people. When my kids grow up and start partying, I want to party with them. People kept asking me what's keeping me young. I said just by being carefree and being true to myself, not to add having a partner who's 7 years younger (ha ha ha). See, I got a lot of reasons not to be called "old". Old for me is when I sit on a rocking chair telling stories to my grandchildren and waiting for the sun to come down the horizon. By then, I would consider myself old but satisfied.

So, this is my answer to Cathara's question "How Old Is Old". She is celebrating her 25th birthday. Hey Cathara, you're just starting your life! There are people I knew who are in their 60s and yet they still party with their "kaberks" and they knew Lady Gaga's song "Paparazzi" (that's my father shhhhh).

Happy Birthday!

Oh Boy, I'm having a boy!

Children . . . they string our joys, like jewels bright, upon the thread of years. ~Edward A. Guest

I am one of the few mothers who suffer the so called hyperemesis gravidarum. It's a severe case of vomiting and nausea during pregnancy which cause is yet to be known. It was said that 1.5% to 2% of mothers suffered such case (very unlucky me). I was hospitalized due to severe dehydration and malnutrition and I lost 5lbs on the first month. I was so stressed that it made me ill that I need to get a leave from work for a month. My doctor gave me medications but she said it would be just help ease the case and not to cure. She gave me large doses of Vitamin C to strengthen my system, Vitamin B Complex to ease nausea, Antacids to prevent acid reflux, and Phenothiazine injections to help ease the vomiting. I was also given Vitamin A because my eyes weakened.

My case of hyperemesis gravidarum subsided on the 16th week. I'm so thankful that my loved ones we're there to support me and help me on my needs. The doctor who's just a phone text away, the father who's willing to do all the household chores because I've been "useless for 4 months, the kids who never missed giving hugs and saying "i love u mommy", and my mom who's been there supporting me till the last days of her life.

Now I'm on my 28th week, hyperemesis gravidarum now is just a thing of the past. I eat a lot, sleep a lot, do the chores, drop the kids to school, check on the father, go to visit mom, and a lot more things that made my father say "magpahinga ka naman". And my last ultrasound said I'm having a boy. Oh boy, I'm having a boy! And he's showing a lot of activities in my tummy, a little acrobat I got here hahaha! The girls were so exited that they kept asking me when is my due date. We can't hardly wait.

The Hangover

"You spin my head right round, right round
When you go down, when you go down down..."

This is a part of the song "Right Round" by Florida that kept playing on my mind for 2 days. I got to knew this song from watching the movie "The Hangover" from a site that offers free online movie streaming. This movie is about a bachelor party made in Las Vegas by four friends, Phil-a school teacher, Stu-a dentist, Dough, and Alan (all the while I thought it's Alen ).

The movie starts on a desert, with bruised and beaten Phil talking on the phone with Dough's soon to be wife telling her that something bad happened. Then there's a flashback of the day before. Vegas by night, strippers, casino, and Cesar's Palace where the guys stayed and sneaked to the roof for a drinking session as a toast for Dough who is marrying Tracy, Alan's sister. They woke up the next morning only to find out that they lost Dough, and worst, they can't remember anything of what had happened. There's a stripper picking up her clothes, there's a baby in the closet, there was a chicken (which presence had never got explained till the end of the movie) , Stu is missing a tooth, Phil is wearing a hospital tag, Dough's bed mattress is skewered on a statue outside, some Asians are harassing them, the valet brought them a stolen police car instead of the vintage Merecedes, and there's a tiger in the bathroom.

Enough of movie spoilers :D. All I can say is that this movie is one of the many that had made me laugh hard. There are some stupid parts though but there are some really funny parts. I recommend guys to watch it and maybe I'll watch it again.

And here's what gave me a case of "last song syndrome"

LP 71: Merienda

Ninoy Aquino Day

He died 26 years ago. According to the government, he was shot by a lone gunman the moment he stepped out of the plane. The greatest president we never had. His death has let off his widow, Corazon C. Aquino to the limelight and eventually to the presidency, putting back the 20-year dictatorial Marcos administration. To many Filipinos, Ninoy Aquino during those times, was considered the number one contender of Ferdinand Marcos.

On August 21, 1971, Ninoy Aquino had not attended the Liberal Party kick-off rally at Plaza Miranda where all of a sudden, the stage became a scene of bloodshed. It was later found out that two grenades were thrown that killed 9 and injured 120. A year after, Marcos declared Martial Law and arrested the number one opponent, Ninoy Aquino for charges of murder, illegal possession of firearms, and subversion. No evidence pointed him to the crimes yet he was found guilty and was sentenced to death by firing squad. The sentence was eventually alleviated but he remained in prison where he had a heart attack that forced him to go to the United States to have a bypass surgery.

Aquino spent three years in the US with his family. But even in his absence, he was still accused of campaigning a revolution. Ninoy later on declared that he was willing to lay his on life on the line.

Then on August 21, 1983, being aware of the dangers that awaited him, Aquino decided to go back to the Philippines. Regardless of security guards, military and police officers at the tarmac, armed bodyguard, and a bulletproof vest, Aquino was still shot in the head. No direct evidence linked Marcos to the assassination yet there was a prevailing dissatisfaction on the Marcos Administration. The assassination opened the eyes of the people from all walks of life. It has also pushed Ninoy's widow, Corazon Aquino into the public eye. She was convinced by the oppositions that she was the one to beat Marcos and later on campaigned for the 1986 snap elections.

Ninoy Aquino's legacy lives on. Lots of monuments was built to commemorate his death and most of all thanks to the congress for enacting RA9256 declaring August 21 as Ninoy Aquino Day, a legal holiday in the Philippines, it means double pay for us who still went to work ;)
