Earning Through Blog Advertising

Let’s accept it. We blog because we wanted to earn from it.

When I started blogging a year ago. I never thought of earning. All I wanted back then was to share my life with the world and meet friends. Not until someone told me that blogging can be a source of income too. I found a lot of blogger friends that are really earning big and I thought, if they can, why can’t I? So my searching started and I came up with awesome results. I found out that there are a lot of sites that can help me promote my blog. One is through Search Engine Optimization which offers services by optimizing a particular site by improving traffic and links. As a newbie blogger, I have no idea what SEO is. All I know is that SEO deals with improving the number of visitors to a web site from a search engine list. I still have a long way to go.

Aside from SEO, another way of promoting a particular site is through blog advertising or Online Advertising where an advertiser is reviewed and promoted through a link from a review written by a blogger. This is where the blogger earns. According to Wikipedia, Blog Advertising or Online Advertising “is a form of promotion that uses the Internet and World Wide Web for the expressed purpose of delivering marketing messages to attract customers”.

There are many sites that offer advertising through writing reviews. One of which is the blogadvertisingstore.com. I had recently joined them and just recently too, my blog had been approved and I was able to receive opportunities of having paid reviews. BlogAdvertisingStore.com offers advertisers ways to learn about how to advertise on blogs. And if you are a blogger, it would be one good place to start earning as there are a lot of opportunities for you one your blog was approved.

I'm really back! (And so does my PR!)

I have one reason to celebrate today. After being MIA for a week, I tried to check on my friends’ blogs for updates. Then when I came to view my blog, I found out that my PR0 is now PR1! Oh Yeah! Woooot Wooooot!

I was sad when my PR was zero but it just made me eager to work harder and not to stop till I get it back. Aside from the tips that I searched from the net, I had also received tips from Earthlingorgeous and Mommy Rubz, and they proved to be very useful and they will never let you down. Take it from the experts!

What I did to get my PR back? Let me share them to you:

Bloghopping- (according to urban dictionary) Following links from one blog to another, reading about the lives of people you have absolutely nothing to do with. You’re not just doing this to increase your page rank and your alexa traffic, but you’re also gaining friends.

Backlink (according to wikipedia) are incoming links to a website or web page. Also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links. Back links are used to connect and stay connected with blogger friends and are also used to meet new people as well.

Post regularly – by posting regularly, you are sharing your daily lives with the world. The more posts you made the more interested your readers will become. But don’t just post. Usually posting for the sake of posting will not give that much help but a good quality post every once or twice a week will do.

For sure there are many ways to get a high page rank. Page rank is important for those who wanted to earn through their blogs as some advertisers require a blog to have a PR3 or above to be their publisher. And whether we accept it or not, we blog because we wanted to earn money from it :)

To celebrate my happiness, I’m giving away free links to those who will fill out my link exchange form. PR1 is nothing compared to the expert’s PR but I’m positive. Opps are coming in :)

MIA again!

I had been MIA for a week! My CTS kept me from making posts. I had to use my ring fingers on typing because they’re the least painful and I had to rest them every once in a while.(Scratching my back became difficult too). I also had to ask some of my friends to take over of my Farms in Facebook he he he. Aside from being “sakit daw ng mga bloggers and chatters”, CTS is also common in pregnancy. It’s even worse when you already had CTS and then you get pregnant. Ouch!

my swollen hands

I’m so thankful that I had friends who lend me their “helping hands” when mine was beyond use : )

I’m also thankful for my blogger friends who find the time to drop by and gave sympathy. Thank you so much! I’ll get in touch to you guys very very soon.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I assumed that something is wrong when I began to feel pain from my wrists two weeks ago. My work requires me to be in front of a computer 8 hours a day and I didn’t know that this will result to “Carpal Tunnel Syndrome”.

According to Wikipedia, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - median neuropathy at the wrist, is a medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist, leading to paresthesias, numbness and muscle weakness in the hand. Night symptoms and waking at night are characteristic of established carpal tunnel syndrome.

There was pain and numbness and ache in the fingers, hand, and wrists. I also had difficulty on grasping things as it made my hand feel weak and clumsy.

CTS usually begin in the third trimester or when nearing the “big day” when women tend to retain more fluids. The symptoms usually go away after giving birth when the swelling finally drop.

Aside from taking Vitamin B Complex, my doctor advised me to limit repetitive hand movements or if my job really requires me this kind of movement, better elevate my chair so that my keyboard and monitor as lowered and my wrists are bent downward.

It also bothers me at night as the pains are more intense. I used some pillows to prop my arm and when I wake up, I tried shaking my hands until the numbness go away.

Carpal tunnel syndrome may little by little settle on its own after giving birth. But if it continues after the baby is born, it is advised to visit a healthcare or an orthopedist if necessary as a specialist might suggest splinting and taking anti-inflammatory medication, such as ibuprofen.

Getting Over Dengue

My 10-year old daughter Mikaela had been hospitalized because of dengue fever. She had fever for 3 days that started on September 25, 2009, a day before Ondoy. Her body temperature reached 40.On the 3rd day, the temperature dropped, and I thought that she would be okay, but she had fever at night time on that same day again .I decided to bring her to the doctor for a check-up and I was advised to take her to the nearest hospital. My heart broke every time she would undergo CBC. She got blood tests twice a day. And though she doesn’t have fever anymore, her rashes had become more visible on the 4th and 5th day. I was relieved that on the 7th day, October 1, 2009, her platelet count went up. Then we were advised that Mikaela was fine and can now go home.

Dengue fever is caused by viruses that are transmitted by mosquitoes. There are four viruses that can cause dengue. Because of this, it is possible to get dengue fever 4 times.

HOW IT IS CONTRACTED

The virus is contracted from the bite of a striped mosquito, Aedes aegypti . The virus is not communicable and cannot be spread directly from person to person.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

Fever, chills, headache, pain upon moving the eyes, backache, aching in the legs and joints, temperature as high as 40degrees, rashes, and swollen lymph glands.

TREATMENT

There is really no specific medicine to treat it. Rest and enough hydration is the most important thing to do. For headaches, an icepack is the only treatment that the doctor can give as aspirin is not advisable.

The kind of virus that my daughter had contracted is the Typical dengue. It is a weak strain of the virus and is not fatal and does not result to death. The dangerous one is the Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). With DHF, there is spitting up blood, blood spots in the skin, blood in the stool, nosebleeds and bleeding gums, weak pulse, and in worst cases, there is inflammation of the heart.

As there is currently no vaccine available, the only prevention for Dengue is the control of the mosquitoes carrying the virus. Cleanliness of the surroundings comes first. At home we should empty stagnant water from old tires, trash cans, and flower pots. For personal protection, wear long pants and long sleeves and use mosquito repellants.

My Ellana Samples!

See what I received yesterday, my Ellana samples! 2 shades of mineral foundation- Chai Tea Latte and Peach Coffee Shake, 1 mineral concealer-Cheer, 1 blush- Fetish, and 1 finishing powder-Almond Coffee Cream.

As I can see, the samples really matched well with my skin tone. But I have not yet tried them out since I'm not sure of I can give proper evaluations to the product at this time since I'm on my 9th month of pregnancy and I'm bloated, my nose's big as a tomato and my skin has darkened. I'm worried I might end up looking like a clown and this would not do good for the product :'(

Anyway, my doctor said that my big day is anytime soon so maybe in a couple of weeks I can go back to my old kikay self again and will be able to try out these Ellana samples. I'm also thinking of making a kikay blog that deals with fashion and cosmetics and on trying them out, and this will come soon, very very soon.
